What is funny for one person is not always funny for another

“Above all else: go out with a sense of humor.  It is needed armor.  Joy in one’s heart and some laughter on one’s lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.”  ~Hugh Sidey

What makes you laugh?  Sometimes I don’t even know why I laugh at something.   There are some people who don’t know how to take a joke.  It’s not that they don’t want to see the humor in situations and in life; it may come down to simple biology and genetics.  People who are overly serious may actually have brains that are wired differently.

I’ve heard that scientific studies are being done to learn more about why people find things funny.  Humor can be an antidote to sadness, depression and sometimes it’s just a release valve from the everyday pressure of life when the going gets rough.  Humor is a way to ease the moment.   Even scientific researchers know that humor has many good benefits and promotes long lasting health.  We still don’t know why what is funny for one person is not always funny for someone else.

What is funny for one person is not always funny for another; keep that in mind when you are coming up with clever mobile marketing campaigns.  The same thing applies to SMS.  When you’re sending group text messages, keep in mind what may provide value for one customer, may not resonate at all for another customer.  The key is to send customized text messages to clients and customers based on your knowledge of what they need and want.   Help us celebrate comedy!  –Kalin J.
