We’ve talked a lot of about how when it comes to mass text messaging that you have to know your audience. The concept of knowing your audience sounds simple, but it’s not as easy as it seems to be. Even the best marketers sometime ignore their own rule and think only of their own needs instead of considering the needs of their audience. You have to spend a lot of time really understanding your audience so you can market to them. Sometimes your audience may not even know what it wants or needs and you have to create a new way to attract them. We can spend a lot of time on the concept of knowing your audience, which brings us to another very important principle in marketing. Another reason why mass text messaging works or doesn’t work has to do with the timing of your message. In the next week, we are going to talk a lot about timing, how important it is, and some creative ways to think about why time really matters, and especially when it comes to group text messaging.
